The National Lighthouse Museum was recently granted its Absolute Charter by the New York State Board of Regents. On November 11, 2016 we rejoiced with an Absolute Celebration with invited guests at the Museum site. Board of Regents representative, Christine Cea, PhD, was on hand to present the Charter to the National Lighthouse Museum. Guests were also treated to a visit by “Augustin Fresnel” the creator of the Fresnel lens that revolutionized a lighthouse’s ability to project light a great distance. “Mr. Fresnel” gave a short talk on his discovery. An absolutely enlightening experience was had by all!
