The National Lighthouse Museum is located a short walk from the Staten Island Ferry terminal. Upon disembarking from the ferry, museum visitors should follow signs to the Passenger Pick-up area. After exiting the terminal building, follow the National Lighthouse Museum signs that direct visitors to stay on the sidewalk around the pickup and parking areas to the walkway leading to the museum site.
All passengers ride the Staten Island Ferry for free. The ferry runs on a regular schedule, twenty-four hours a day, between stations in lower Manhattan and St. George, Staten Island. The 20-minute voyage takes passengers across scenic New York harbor passing by the Statue of Liberty, Governors Island, and offering a breathtaking view of the skyline of lower Manhattan.
From the Staten Island Ferry
The Staten Island Ferry is always FREE and leaves from Manhattan from South Ferry/ Whitehall to the St. George Terminal on Staten Island. The ride is approximately 25 minutes.

Once the ferry docks in St. George, exit out of the middle deck, turn left and walk towards Z.Z.’s Pizza. Take the stairs down to the parking level, turn right immediately, and follow blue signs for “Bay Street Landing”. You will walk under two overpasses. Once you reach the Ferry Maintenance Building at 1 Bay Street, keep walking straight and follow the red buoy anchors. The walk is approximately 5 minutes from the ferry terminal.
